On Saturday 22nd April 2017 in association with the Stroke Association we ran a ‘Know your blood pressure’ event in the Galleries Shopping Centre Bristol.

This was the 13th year that we had run the event which was one of more than 250 that took place across the country involving Rotary Clubs.

A team of volunteers , including nurses and Rotarians, checked 175 people’s blood pressure during the day with 5 identified as needing an urgent referral to their GP and another 55 recommended to have a further check within four weeks. Happily this year we found no one who needed hospital referral as had happened in previous years.

Next year the event will be on Saturday 21st April and we will be very pleased to have extra volunteers who can measure blood pressures on the day.
