President's Plan

Rotary’s “year” runs from July to June with a new President being elected for each year. Norman Fayers became President of the club for 2008/09 on 30th June having been Senior Vice President for the previous year.
At a Club Meeting on 7 July 08, Norman, in his Address to the Club, outlined his main plans for the forthcoming year which are as follows:

Run for the Future

To be held for the third year on Sunday 7 September 2008 on Bristol Downs.

In support of Prostate Cancer research and care at Bristol Urological Institute.

The previous two year events have raised over £100,000.

Charities Supported by Fund Raising Events

WATER AID – an international charity, working with local partners, enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

THE JESSIE MAY TRUST - the locally based charity providing specialist respite-nursing care for families with a terminally ill child.

A Dinner/Dance to be held on Friday 31 October 2008 at The Grand Hotel, Broad Street, Bristol.

Evenings of Rock ‘n’ Roll and Traditional Jazz

Discussions are currently being held with local bands and local venues with events to be held in Autumn ‘08 / Spring ’09.
