Services

We provide many vocational services to our local community and a few examples are shown below:

MENTORING

Our members, who have a wealth of experience in the private and public sectors, provide a mentoring and support service to pupils at Cotham School in Bristol.

MOCK INTERVIEWS

To assist pupils who are searching for jobs, we provide mock interviews at a number of Secondary Schools in the Bristol area.

KIDS DAY OUT

In June each year our club, as part of a national Rotary Kids Out day, take a party of over 50 underprivileged and disabled children to Bristol Zoo.

The excited children, with their parents and/or carers, visit the animals, enjoy face painting and take part in live animal displays laid on by the staff at this wonderful zoological garden

The day includes a picnic lunch provided by the Club

Stroke Awareness

Each year, since 2004, our Club has supported Rotary’s national Stroke Awareness Day in April.

Members of the club recruit nurses who check the blood pressure of members of the public in the Galeries Shopping precinct in Bristol’s Broadmead.

Up to 600 people are examined in a day and of these over as many as 10% are referred to their GPs for further examination.

It is clear that lives are saved by this event.
