We aim to use the professional and business skills of our members in the design, development and execution of projects for the benefit of the local community.
Run for the Future
Not many people know that Prostate Cancer kills around 14,000 men a year in the UK—more deaths than breast cancer causes with women.
We organised a Fun Run on the Bristol Downs on Sunday 10 September 2006 to raise awareness of prostate cancer and to raise funds for research by the Bristol Urological Institute.
About 550 runners and walkers enjoyed a superb day with as many more people in support.
We would like to thank all those who took part and those who came along in support to make this a very worthwhile day .
The contribution you have made to the BUI Bristol Prostate Cancer Appeal stands at over £61,000 at today’s date.
You can now register for the Run online at:www.runforthefuture.org
Charity Concert
We, with the help of other Clubs in Bristol, organise a free Charity Concert for the elderly at the Colston Hall in Bristol in Autumn each year. This year it will be held on Sunday 7 October 2007. Last year, around 1500 people from all walks of life enjoyed the concert.
Mercy Ships Africa
The picture to the left shows an operating theatre on the African Mercy, a mercy ship operating around Africa restoring sight to many people.
