/Lynn's Story/
I was aware of Rotary during my working life and had supported various Rotary fundraising events over the years. When I retired in October 2019, I had time to spare, and I knew I wanted to do something worthwhile. Near the end of 2022, after COVID, a Rotarian neighbour suggested I attend a Rotary meeting, so I joined in the December. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming!

I was immediately able to do my bit by arranging volunteers for a local charity called PhysioNet, by re-instating an annual children’s fun day in June for disadvantaged children, helping with various other activities for local young people and helping with fundraising events.

I also had the privilege of being Club President during 2024-2025. This was a very fulfilling and enjoyable experience, and I was supported wonderfully by the members of the club. I enjoy activities that are different to my previous career but utilising the skills that I acquired during my working life. Being in Rotary has given me the satisfaction of knowing that I am making a difference.
